Join the party … volunteer!
July 9, 2009 | By | Category: VolunteersCome meet and work alongside the best minds in online journalism. The ONA09 committee is looking for volunteers to work before and during the conference. Our real need now: folks to pitch during early-morning registration on Thursday and Friday, as well as some hands to help stuff bags on Wednesday. Other duties include setting up signs and tables, acting as guides for sessions and for Job Fair recruiters, setting up interviews for student newsroom journalists, and more.
Qualifications: A nice smile, a love of digital journalism (and journalists) and a firm commitment. In return for a few hours of work, we provide a free half-day of sessions, interviews with ONA Board members and, for students, a free ONA membership.
Here’s a list of volunteer opportunities (LINK). If you’re planning to attend or, even better, are already in the San Francisco area, drop us an e-mail at ONA09volunteers@journalists.org.we provide camaraderie, lots of sugar and caffeine, and reasonable hours that allow you time to network and take advantage of what’s at the conference.
